    womanofkleenex asked: How did you learn to read tarot? I was thinking about trying to teach myself that when I'm done frantically editing all the time.

    I bought my first deck when i was 17.  I was mildly obsessed with Wicca at the time and decided that tarot would be fun to learn.  I started to get into it pretty deeply when I moved to austin in 2000 and started hanging out with the O.T.O folks. I got a Thoth deck and started studying the Book of Thoth, which frankly might be a little too woo-woo for most folks that don’t give a shit about ritual magick. There’s also Understanding Thoth Tarot, which I also read quite a bit. If you’d like, I can see if any of my tarot-reading Austin pals can give you some more info locally.  

    What i found helpful was to buy a deck that suited me (I got mine from book people in austin) and then spend time each day pulling a single card and studying it.
